I first ventured into teaching/training whilst in my final year of secondary school. I assisted in evening swimming lessons with special needs children and found something that I enjoyed. The sense of achievement in developing their skills, was incredibly interesting and rewarding. I continued to develop my teaching/learning in my 20`s within a local sub-aqua diving club and soon became a Club Instructor with BSAC. I developed this further to become a regional instructor assisting local clubs in the northeast with their training. I have been a volunteer crewman with the RNLI Hartlepool Lifeboat for the last 28 years, trained in various roles as the training requires. With a particular interest in Casualty Care. Assisting with training exercises with the RNLI station doctor, who is also A&E consultant at the local hospital. This training has over the years been invaluable when dealing with challenging and varied rescues involving, minor injuries to serious life-threatening injuries. With my interest in first aid, and a passion to share the knowledge, which I have gained over the years. I decided to further my education and take the teaching and first aid trainer qualifications with Nuco Training Limited and qualified as a freelance trainer.
